On Track and Tracking

Today the 4th graders did a fabulous job with moving quickly and making our academic goal for Fun Friday.
The day started with a refreshing math fact assessment and continued on down the same road with a Latin test and a spelling test. Each one of the students was listening, moving quickly, and was diligent in their work. I should add that some students would benefit with a little more practice in their Latin.
Today’s writing project was so spectacular. We started our first essay! This essay has 3 paragraphs – our usual writing projects consist of one paragraph. The cutter ant is an amazing animal it actually can cut through leaves and flowers! In each ant colony, there are different vocations: the soldier ants, the collector ants, the nurse ants, and the queen ant. Even ants have jobs and have to work! We really like writing on God's creatures, because as we learn to write we are also learning about God's creation.
When I think of ants I always think of this proverb -

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provides her meat in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.           Proverbs 6:6-8

We made our goal and we are ready for whatever tomorrow brings!
